Technitium MAC Address Changer allows you to change Media Access Control (MAC) Address of your Network Interface Card (NIC) irrespective to your NIC manufacturer or its driver. It has a very simple user interface and provides ample information regarding each NIC in the machine. Every NIC has a MAC address hard coded in its circuit by the manufacturer. This hard coded MAC address is used by windows drivers to access Ethernet Network (LAN). This tool can set a new MAC address to your NIC, bypassing the original hard coded MAC address. It is nice to see a useful tool undergo rapid development, particularly a free one!
Most of the updates to v5 are for Vista and the fixing of installer issues but that does not detract from the usefulness of this tool.
Thanks Technitium!

Was first pointed to technitium here on darknet, It’s a great tool for free. I dl’d this one right away, I’ll defiantly be running it through the tests in the lab come Monday. Thanks technitium, and big thanks Darknet, since I have started coming to this site my “testing” folder is never empty!

Tried it out in the lab today, works like it should. While I was messing with it I had a thought; If I were to flood a switch with packets containing a different mac each time, the switch would broadcast for each of them basically resulting in a DoS attack, is that right? (I’, a computer forensics student and lab tech, this is purely an academic question).
