lm2ntcrack – Microsoft Windows NT Hash Cracker (MD4 -LM)
I like this tool. Especially its intriguing focus on NT hashes. Getting an LM pass cr@cked is usually pretty easy (just run SAM inside or some other run of the mill pass cracker) the NT pass is always a pain in the McCain. As for its speed, less than 2 seconds is pretty darn good for a brute force attack. I bet the specialization in just NT hashes has something to do with the speed up. Anyone know if this would have any success at cracking an NT hash for a Window$ machine that uses a domain specific login and pass? I guess I should look that up.
RainbowCrack is the pretty much the best cr@cker out there when it comes to hashes, but it can take alot of work to get it humming depending on which distro you are using. Also, HUGE rainbow tables are a must with RC.
This new tool could lighten the load in my naughty little toolbox.

If you’re feeling down, I recommend saying “POOP”, only in a high voice like a choo choo train was making the noise. Ha Ha, “POOP”, just thinking about it while I write makes me laugh, cause its a funny word.

Oh snap, I almost forgot to thank GFI for supporting Darknet!!
Sarah, thanks for supporting Darknet. It truly is a great place to “Hack to Learn”. Plus the articles are all unique, you won’t see a repost from popurls here.
Now that that’s said and done, lets figure out how the PENTAGON got hacked by somebody in China?!?!?! DHS my bloody foot.

KGB Keylogger from Refog Software – Review
@ Daniel
Most keyloggers are easily found by anti-vir soft, cause they are very small, not much code, and thusly very very easy to identify. Any anti-vir using heristics will find pretty much any keylogger file that is an executable. Now as far as rootkits… That’s a different story.» Posted By TheRealDonQuixote On August 31, 2007 @ 12:01 am
PDF & Image Attachment Spam – The New Problem with E-mail
@ Sarah
I’m sorry if I miscommunicated something in my question. I know not to reply to any spam for all of the reasons you listed, plus you may wind up verifying that your email address is real and incur further spamming.I was aiming at being more like a digilanti, all V for Vendetta style. Something a little more dark and dangerous. You know, hacking!!
We all know that you can peak at a message header to see where the spam/scam might be routed through, as well as checking domain names and other basic net sleuthing. However, its like begging for an RSI to do all that manually. And once you have any pertinent information, if any at all, what can one do with it? Is there a list to check against for spammers and scammers? Then what? Herd computing? Bot nets? A group of uber naughty white hat garden gnomes that already do this type of backhacking?
What I am really looking for here is a way to f**k with these guys when I’m bored. Why? Cause … hey everybody has a hobby!!

hmm, now I’m afraid to open the O.J. “If I Did It” leaked PDF somebody emailed me. I better triple scan it.
If I could ask one question from GDI, it would be, “How can we actively fight back against these spammers and scammers? The email headers are bounced all over the place and the mail exchange servers seem to be legit businesses. Is there any way to make a vacation responder or something that would spam them right back?”
I know there was a push to try and do this legally on a larger front, although I forget the name of the project, but I wanna know hot to do it on my own just to be naughty.

German Hacker Successfully Clones E-Passports
Sorry for the “this is old” lameness. I realized I sounded like a duma$$ digg user. Now that is the definition of embarrassing!!
Anyhew, tinfoil is supposed to work too for screwing up RFID readers. I’ve seen a wallet with some sheets of foil built right into the walls of the thing, its supposed to cover your RFID enabled credit cards. But some say that you have to completely wrap the card or passport in foil. I dunno cause I haven’t been able to play around with RFID stuff, no money.
I really want to go around a Gap and make all their inventory magically disappear from their systems. All I need is a small EMP device

No offense DKNT, but isn’t this old news? Engadget had an article about these guys way back on 03.08.06.
If anyone’s interested here’s a great video on how to skim data from RFID credit cards.
RFID-enabled Credit Card SkimmingAnd here’s a link on how to write RFID worms!! The Dutch have been on this for quite a while now.

Immunity Debugger v1.0 (immdbg) Release – Download it Now!
@Malfunction
Actually its good you wrote back. Better late than never. I had completely forgot about syser.
Thanks for the link!» Posted By TheRealDonQuixote On August 31, 2007 @ 5:21 am
@Malfunction – Nice work there. Do you think the added python scripting and graphing makes Immunity Debugger any better than ollydbg? What about the claims that exploit time is cut in half? Also, I have discovered that Immunity debugger doesn’t run so well in WINE, actually not at all really. Still, what do you think about the supposed speed increase?
BTW – Link for syser plz? I’ve never used it.» Posted By TheRealDonQuixote On August 21, 2007 @ 9:11 pm
NASA Hacker Gary McKinnon Wins Right to Lords Appeal Extradition Hearing
Hopefully, with the current distaste for US relations in Brittan, McKinnon will get a fair trial without the tainted misgivings of the so called “Terrorism Act”, which is really an Act of Terrorism. However, the House of Lords may know all too well where their bread is buttered.
Yes, McKinnon should stand trial, but not held to the fire, quite literally, by the Spanish Inquisition like conditions that the “Terrorism Act” allows.
Guantanamo torture bay they should call it. The politics of fear must stop somewhere. Maybe the UK can muster the bollocks to do it. The US sure can’t.

BKBN – Yeah you have a point, but if the Darknet Forum was via registration (not like the comment areas on the posts, a whole seperate subdomain or something) then there could be a simple test to see if one was knowledgeable enough to be able to register. Like how you used to start that one war game “Mod-X”, only the little tests would have to be randomized or the answers would be all over the net.

TimeWarner DNS Hijacking IRC Servers to Stop DDoS Attacks
I wonder if this has something to do with the latest P2P reconstituting w32.storm.worm? Its really a trojan that adds your PC to a bot net. Somebody has been sending vareints since last x-mas and the bot net must be HUGE by now. I wonder if this is an attempt at blocking any more DoS attacks from STORM. Anyone know anything? Its the longest sustained attack in two years. Good thing I’m all Linux now.

Hackers Steal U.S. Government Corporate Data from PCs – AGAIN
@BackBone
You can find source codes and multiple variants for trojans, worms and other assorted malware and “hack tools” at VX Chaos File Server. Check in the “Unknown Malware” and “Uploads” sections for the naughty stuff that no one has even seen yet!! No cash needed. There is also, leetupload.com, but they haven’t been in the VX trading and collecting game nearly as long as Azag over at VXChaos. VXhavens is another hot spot for the l33t s**t.

Microsoft UK Defaced by Saudi Hackers
@ Nobody_Holme
There are 7 levels of tard. MicroSUCK security developers are one level below George W. Bush, who is the most tard of all tards at a level numero one. A level 7 tard is like someone who forgets their coffee on top of their car. I’m like a level 5 or 6 tard, somewhere around people who don’t RTFM. Level 4 tards are people who don’t RTFM and then proceed to ask repetitive questions about said FM without searching Google. A level 3 tard is someone who has no idea what RTFM refers to, nor do they care to know exactly how to use their email client.I think that pretty much covers all the levels…

» Posted By TheRealDonQuixote On September 1, 2007 @ 5:55 am
Honestly, what are the peeps over at MicroSUCK thinking? Is this hubris? They have every possible resource that money can buy, but they fail to execute the basics of modern security?!?! How does that happen? Seriously, does anyone have any clue as to why Microsoft would let this craptasticness continue from XP on up?
oops. I’m a tard. I just saw the link to the info on the attack. Srry.

The Soft Underbelly? – Database Security
Here’s a tip for all you MBA’s out there running corporate America. Hire some pentesters to remain on your IT staff purely to keep testing your companies’ security, including your actual data in your DB’s. Pay them well, not just cause they deserve it, but so they don’t have wandering thoughts of more money. Then, talk to them, learn about the basics of information security.
Oh, and stop leaving huge printouts of reports all over the place. Not EVERYONE in the company needs a printed copy of all your sensitive info for your weekly team update or whatever. Remember, social engineering and dumpster diving is a large part of data gathering and subsequently hacking your company into non-existence or just costing you and yours a buttload of money and time.
There, now America is safe. XD

Caller ID Spoofing to be Made Illegal in the USA
«« Back To Stats PageI was thinking about this today as I saw a call coming in and it was “Caller ID Blocked”. I think this is a form of spoofing, because the number is there, its real, but it has been changed. That is spoofing. Its changing the number that should appear to something else.
Who does this? Freaking telemarketers!! There are some people who block their caller ID for business purposes other than being annoying freaks. Are the telco’s and the US govt going to come down on that??? I doubt it.
This is stupid, money grubbing, palm greasing US politics. Representative democracy my butt.
