The CD contains the best of the open source and free tools that focus on testing and attacking websites. In developing this environment, the authors have based the tool selection on the tools they use in our security practice.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7686\/16515056044_de0e1d1e07.jpg\" alt=\"SamuraiWTF 3.x And Onwards - Web Testing Framework Linux LiveCD\" \/><\/p>\n<p>SamuraiWTF includes the tools to carry out all four steps of a web pen-test.<\/p>\n<p>Starting with reconnaissance, we have included tools such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/2007\/02\/fierce-domain-scanner-released-domain-reconnaissance-tool\/\">Fierce domain scanner<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/2008\/11\/maltego-forensics-and-intelligence-application-information-gathering-tool\/\">Maltego<\/a>. For mapping, we have included tools such <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/2006\/07\/webscarab-web-application-analysis-new-version\/\">WebScarab<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/2008\/07\/ratproxy-passive-web-application-security-audit-tool\/\">ratproxy<\/a>. We then chose tools for discovery. These would include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/2011\/11\/w3af-v1-1-released-for-download-web-application-attack-audit-framework\/\">w3af<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/2011\/06\/burp-suite-free-edition-v1-4-web-application-security-testing-tool\/\">Burp Suite<\/a>. For exploitation, the final stage, we included <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/2006\/10\/beef-browser-exploitation-framework\/\">BeEF<\/a>, AJAXShell and much more.<\/p>\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3033787195489589\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- Darknet Responsive Post Ad Links [previously link ad unit] -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3033787195489589\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"5456620019\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\n<p>This CD also includes a pre-configured wiki, set up to be the central information store during your pen-test.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve reported on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/2008\/11\/samurai-web-testing-framework-web-application-security-livecd\/\">Samurai Web Testing Framework since way back in 2006<\/a> when it first hit the scene with 0.3.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s been a lot of changes with the recent 3.x public release, a lot of clean-up work has been done and the underlying OS has finally been updated to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (yay).<\/p>\n<p>The major version number will be tied to the Ubuntu LTS release cycle (every 2 years with support for 5 years), so SamuraiWTF 4.0 will be on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
