{"id":1164,"date":"2008-10-21T06:08:48","date_gmt":"2008-10-21T06:08:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/?p=1164"},"modified":"2017-10-09T18:30:50","modified_gmt":"2017-10-09T10:30:50","slug":"lm2ntcrack-microsoft-windows-nt-hash-cracker-md4-lm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/2008\/10\/lm2ntcrack-microsoft-windows-nt-hash-cracker-md4-lm\/","title":{"rendered":"lm2ntcrack &#8211; Microsoft Windows NT Hash Cracker (MD4 -LM)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have covered quite a lot of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/category\/password-cracking\/\">Password Cracking<\/a> tools and it&#8217;s not often a new one comes out, this one is for quite a specialised purpose (not a general all-purpose password cracker like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/2006\/03\/jtr-password-cracking-john-the-ripper-17-released-finally\/\">John the Ripper<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/2007\/01\/cain-and-abel-download-windows-password-cracker\/\">Cain &#038; Abel<\/a>), although you do need to use it alongside JTR.<\/p>\n<p>This tool is for instantly cracking the Microsoft Windows NT Hash (MD4) when the LM Password is already known, you might be familiar with LM Cracking tools such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darknet.org.uk\/2006\/09\/lcp-a-good-free-alternative-to-l0phtcrack-lc5\/\">LCP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The main problem is you&#8217;ve got the LM password, but it&#8217;s in UPPERCASE because LM hashes are not case sensitive, so you need to find the actual password for the account.<\/p>\n<p>Example : Password cracker output for &#8220;Administrator&#8221; account<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>LM password is ADMINISTRAT0R.<\/li>\n<li>NT password is ?????????????.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We aren&#8217;t lucky because the case-sensitive password isn&#8217;t &#8220;administrat0r&#8221; or &#8220;Administrat0r&#8221;.
