A bit of an update to the conficker worm that is supposedly scheduled for new updates and instructions today wednesday 1st. April 2009 and that nobody except for the bad guys knows what those instructions would be. Fyodor has rolled out a new nmap beta release to the nmap scripting engine that enables it to check if a particular machine is possibly infected by the conficker worm.

Thanks to excellent research by Tillmann Werner and Felix Leder of The Honeynet Project and implementation work by Ron Bowes, David Fifield, Brandon Enright, and Fyodor, we’ve rolled out a new Nmap release which can remotely scan for and detect infected machines. Nmap 4.85BETA5 is now available from the download page, including official binaries for Windows and Mac OS X. To scan for Conficker, use a command such as:

nmap -PN -T4 -p139,445 -n -v --script=smb-check-vulns --script-args safe=1 IP

A clean machine should report at the bottom: “Conficker: Likely CLEAN”, while likely infected machines say: “Conficker: Likely INFECTED”.

A useful feature to check your own network if any of your computers in the network is infected by the conficker worm.

Tenable security have also released a new Nessus plugin #36036

which performs a network based check for Windows computers infected with a variant of the Conficker virus. The scan does not need credentials, but does require ports 445 or 139 to be open between the Nessus scanner and your scanned systems. The plugin is based on research from the University of Bonn in Germany.

Conficker exploits Windows systems vulnerable to MS08-067. Tenable has worked with many organizations to help them perform both un-credentialed network scans and credentialed patch audits with Nessus to find systems that are still vulnerable.

A UK firm Virtuity has created data protection software called BackStopp which comes with ’self-destruct’ technology based on Wi-Fi and RFID tags that starts to run as and when a laptop is moved from its designated space.

So in layman’s terms, if the laptop is moved from its permitted zone (which is set by the user) Backstopp sends out a self-destruct message to block access and ultimately destroy data, locating the laptop using Wi-Fi and radio frequency identification technology. What’s even cooler is that any laptop featuring an in-built webcam will be prompted to start taking photographs to help identify the thief.

There are millions of people out there who keep very secure data on their laptops which, if fallen into the wrong hands can cause damage to a lot of people. This FBI/CIA type security tool brings advanced security to all laptops users at a very affordable price of £10 per laptop per month.

Go to fileleecher.com and follow the instructions on how to copy the youtube.com video link and download the video. Once you’ve download the video you’ll have to rename to .flv if doesn’t already have the extension. Then you’ll need to download the encoder to covert the .flv file format into other formats. For that you’ll need Riva FLV Encoder. The installation includes the player for FLV and the encoder for converting it to mpeg or avi.

After all that you can do what ever you want with the videos. Put it into your iPod video, PSP or even convert it to .3GP for putting it into your mobile phone.

Do you get tired of being in an elevator and someone else gets on every other floor in between the floors that you’re going to? Well you’re in luck, today i’m going to tell you how to skip all other floors and go straight to the floor you want to get off.

I’ve been trying this hack for sometime now (since last year) and i can say that it works 100% so far. I used it in my home country as well as when i’m away on holiday to see and try if it works. I just came back from singapore last week and i tried this hack on the elevators there and it worked. It was a 30th floor building and i didn’t stop anywhere in between from ground floor to the 15th floor and i did this for the whole duration i was there. A good way to test this is to make sure you’re in the elevator alone and use the hack to go to a certain floor and see if it skips when someone somewhere tries to stop the elevator on your way to your floor.

Before i reveal this hack to all you peeps, i just want to say that, we at darknet.org.uk will not be held responsible for the chaos that will arise from this post that will result in people waiting for elevators everywhere. p(x_x)q

While some elevators require a key, others can be put into “Express” mode by pressing the “door close” and “floor” buttons at the same time. Most elevators have the option for this to work but on some of them the option is turned off by whoever runs them.
