Xcluding your file like that doesn't xclude it from the check up but from the entire file-system, in other words, your file stops existing. Best I can say, turn of your sym AV while downloading and installing C&A then turn it back on when your finished. Forget that last post,

You can xclude specific extensions, but we dont want to xclude all .exe files... Then I found you can xclude specific files from the system check up. In the symantec UI, go to configue, then system file - auto-protect, in the Options section, click on Exclude selected File/Folder, then click on Exclusions and select the C&A install file.
