Wouldn't have posted, but you seemed excited by this so another example of a similar proxy is
TCPTunnel - http://www.tcp-tunnel.com/ [also has a link to allow you to do more than just surf - play games etc.]

As far as anonymity goes, there are two risks
1) The website owner - do they keep logs? What do they do with these logs ?

2) Leak of information from the browser. Java applets, and Flash for example, can leak your IP.

Both are genuine risks. I wouldnt use a web proxy for privacy...I'd use a proxifier type program along with a tunnelling program like the one linked from TCP-Tunnel.

the anonimity is to the site you are visiting, while being anonymous to a server sounds good the price when you start using cgiproxy is that all the data sent is recorded by the proxy server. so yes you may not be at a know IP by something like myspace (and thats cool) you will be sharing your account password with the person who runs the cgiproxy site.

Now question if this is a smart way to use a myspace proxy?

Peacefire are awesome, i recommend everyone have a look in at that site!
Combine something like their proxy lists with Tor and you are pretty much invisible online, just as long as aren't be tracked on your computer that is! heh.

I never trust when a website says "100% anonymity", hell i barely even trust Tor for that.
But when websites claim this, theres always a catch.
They probably couldn't run if they did provide 100% anonymity (especially in USA) because of laws pertaining to logging activity.

I say use Tor and go to anonymizing websites! 178% anonymous now! HUZZAH!

I'm suprised you've never heard of the CGIProxy script before! It's free and open source.

Another group working on this is Peacefire, and they constantly offer new domain names via a mailing list, so no firewall ever has them all blocked.
