Imagine if every high value item had a GPS locator in them. They could be battery powered, and only start broadcasting when the power was unplugged. And it doesn't have to be GPS, could be done with triagulation between Wifi stations, bluetooth snarfing, cell phone towers, etc. Yes, the clever crooks could take precautions, but the burglars around where I live are nearly that clever... Actually, I’m looking forward to a burglary-free future due to technology.
